Krishna Janmashtami is an annual Hindu festival that celebrates the birth of Shri Krishna, the eighth avatar of Vishnu. Hindus celebrate Janmashtami by fasting, singing, praying together, preparing and sharing special food, night vigils and visiting Krishna or Vishnu temples.

On this auspicious occasion, we are remembering Shri Krishna with this beautiful song (in the form of Qawali). This Song addresses Krishna by his name Kanhaiya as an absent lover.

The song is in the style of a loving complaint to the beloved, sung with great panache and yet loving delicacy by the immaculate performers that Farid Ayaz, Abu Muhammed and their party are.
