The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has stepped up its probe into possible terror links involving staff and students of Al-Falah Medical College in Faridabad, following the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort.
According to officials, the NIA now seeks Al Falah college’s complete records since 2019, including faculty recruitment files, attendance registers, salary payment logs, student hostel details, and ID verifications.
Several faculty members and students are being questioned to establish how individuals with alleged terror affiliations were recruited or admitted to the institution. Among those under the scanner are two doctors, Dr Mohammad Umar Un Nabi and Dr Muzammil, along with Dr Nisar-ul-Hassan, who joined the college in 2022 after being dismissed by the Jammu and Kashmir administration under Article 311(2)(c) for alleged anti-national activities. His daughter, officials said, also enrolled at the university as a first-year student.
Investigators have seized personal diaries and notebooks during searches, which are being examined for financial trails, coded entries, and potential communications linked to radical activity. The agency is also scrutinising the flow of funds at the college, including salary disbursements, bank accounts, and student scholarships, to determine whether the institution was knowingly or unknowingly infiltrated.
In a statement earlier this week, the college said it was fully cooperating with investigators and reiterated that it had no links to any unlawful activity.
The NIA’s document analysis unit is expected to begin a detailed examination of the records later this week at its Delhi office.
